Malin Bridge Nursery is a Community Nursery School. The nursery is split across two buildings; Stepping Stones is for children around 2-3 years of age, and The Bridge is for children around 3-4 years old. Our capacity per session is 30 for The Bridge and 20 for Stepping Stones.
You can book your child into sessions to suit you and use your free childcare entitlement here, which is either:
- Up to 15 free hours for Two and Three Year Old FEL
- 30 free hours for Extended FEL

Places in Stepping Stones and The Bridge are allocated from our waiting lists in the Spring and Summer Terms preceding the September intake. Priority is given to children living in the catchment area for the school, and children who have siblings already in Nursery or School, or who will have siblings starting with us in school in the same September. We will call you to discuss your requirements and confirm whether we can offer your child a space. If you are not successful in getting a space in the September intake, you will be given the option of remaining on the waiting list for when space becomes available later in the year. We often have some availability appear midway through the year as session requirements change. We try to fill these slots from our current cohort and waiting lists.
Regretfully, we cannot reserve any spaces for children wishing to start with us in the Spring or Summer Terms, but we will hold your details on file and notify you whether we have availability. Feel free to call us to check availability closer to your requested start date too.
Please note, children attending Malin Bridge Nursery are not guaranteed a space at Malin Bridge Primary School. And, they are not given higher priority by the Sheffield City Council Admissions Team when allocating Reception places at the school.
