Our Integrated Resource will have 20 places in a carefully designed, purpose built environment. The children in the IR will access some lessons in the IR and will also be able to access some lessons in the mainstream school dependent on their individual needs. We aim to give these children full access to the National Curriculum. Their work will be personalised to their individual strengths and needs, and if needed will be delivered at a different pace to mainstream children depending upon their specific needs.

The children attending the Integrated Resource will benefit from a high level of support, but the majority of this will be delivered in a small group basis with a high staff:pupil ratio. These children will have an Education, Health and Care Plan and will come from a wider area as well as the school’s catchment area.

Admissions to the Integrated Resource will be dealt with directly by the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Assessment and Review Service (SENDSARS). It should also be made clear that, unfortunately, a place in Malin Bridge’s Mainstream setting does not give a child access to an Integrated Resource place; this is dealt with separately by the SENDSARS team.

Please find below two letters issued on 1 September 2022 that mark the beginning of the consultation period relating to the intended set up of a new IR (Integrated Resource) unit on our school site. This new building will provide valuable extra learning spaces for Sheffield children who have additional learning needs and who are in receipt of an Educational Health Care Plan. We are very excited to be involved in this much needed venture.
